Personally I can't get enough of Stalker. With the Complete mod it's pretty bug-free and very pretty, and it just avoids so many of the usual video game tricks I've got so tired of.

Such as, a mission pivotal to the story requires you to find the corpse of a scientist who was collecting data. In a video game, once you'd found the data you'd be attacked by a horde of zombies or a bunch of traps would enable or something. In Stalker, the place the scientist died is just as desolate as it was before you got to him; more so, because you probably had to clear out a few wandering creatures first.

I am... yet to play it enough to be actually any good at it.

Oh, trust me, once you figure out the very basic FroSyn controls, start playing with other people.

1. It is educational. People do things that the AI, decent as it is, does not, and people are better explaining WTF DID YOUR GUY JUST DO too.

2. It is hilarious. You can laugh together about the whack ass bullshit that just occurred. The AI does not know how to do that either.
