Spoilers for ep 21, "Over a Barrel, and ep 26, "The Best Night Ever."
Are Mr. F and I the only people who watched ep 21 and thought that
A couple of my friends are just getting through S1 now and were all "we don't see it." It seems to me that not only is this a specific reference to the actual history of North America, but that it's canonical to Equestria too, since:
Given all that, I'm almost prepared to argue that some forms of baked/ fried pastries in Equestria are recreational intoxicants for which varying types of folks have different tolerances.
I suspect I'm beanplating it, but, really, episode 21 did kind of severely hint that that sort of pie is going to cause a future socioeconomic disaster in that part of the country.
