I have not yet watched this show (curse you, slow torrents) but am confident nothing could possibly be better than Derpy Hooves unless Kate Beaton's fat pony joins the cast |

Opinions of actual children:
My daughter (4) never settles on any pony, but it would pretty much be Pinkie Pie or Rarity if you counted it up.
My 8 year old neice picked Rainbow Dash and will have no talk of any other pony.
Oh, and 4 year old thinks Rainbow Dash is a boy - DAMN YOU OUTRAGED ONLINE GENDER THEORIST, YOU WERE RIGHT! She has yet to stop reading books though.

Mr. F is aaaaallll about Twilight in a way others might find unnerving. (I think it's partially the Jean Grey/ Derp Phoenix thing.)
Me, it's a tossup between Derpy and Pinkie Pie. Derpy represents for my obvious visual impairment; it's like Oracle for the walleyed.

Presumably you've seen all the fanon for Derpy now: she's obsessed with muffins, is a postal worker, has a daughter named Dinky, etc.
