Everything after the fairy intro was awesome. Somehow, fast forwarding a year made me care about almost every character again. Okay, other than Crystal's clan. But even Sam and his horsey friends made me squee.

It pained me in ways I can barely articulate, oh my god. I am at one with horror.

We just watched it last night, and it was everything I want from True Blood.
"Everything I want from True Blood" doesn't really intersect with anything I want from other shows, though.

I was immensely pleased to learn the fairies are really the Christmas Hobgoblins from the Simpsons. I think the writers heard me when, at the end of the last season, I was like 'that was great, but wouldn't it be amazing if it was at least five times as daft?'. I wholeheartedly approve. And Arlene with evil baby is, officially, Best Subplot Ever.

Usually I hate baby subplots, but for some reason this one is palatable. I'm sure part of it is that they haven't resented to an ugly doll in place of a baby yet.

Yeah, I really hated the "I'm going to have an evil baby!" subplot last season, but somehow the "I ACTUALLY have an evil baby!" situation is working for me.
I gingerly approve of what they did with everyone. Although, I don't know if I can really buy Tara as a cage-fighting lesbian. We'll see.

I'm hoping that we'll see her move on as a character, being more than the angry/broken person we've seen and acting more as the voice of reason that seemed to be promised in her season 1 debut.

I agree with everyone, all last season I was thinking " I do not go to True Blood for family drama, I go to True Blood for crazy bloodbaths and naked people" and look here it is.
The jumping ahead really fixed the OMG YOU PACING IS SO SLOW problem and it suddenly made me give a shit about story lines I had tossed aside ...I still think Sam and Adlice are Boring On Toast but we don't spend a lot of time wit them.
Props to Sookie for being genre savvy enough to never eat the faerie food, and yea when it turned into high fantasy camp there for several ( very expensive) seconds, I was hooked, the show was expanding it's world and going to the gonzo batshit places I want it to go in.
Also aftter three years of HOMOEROTICISM YES! We finally get ladybits and I thought it was, as exploitation goes, well done. It wasn't about guys at all. And I like Angry Lying Tara. She spent like a year being brutalized and or in shock, she deserves some angry ass me time.
Aw look it Pam trying to be nice for the camera. Aw look at...Jessica and Hoyt and their ...hmph. I wonder if they're going in that "we fight but we both secretly love it" direction cause that would be very in character for the show.
God Bill is a very skilled and unctious liar. That is important to remember. Bill. Lies. All. The. Time.
I am gunning for a return of the Church Of The Sun and Ryan Kwanten you are adorable but I no longer care about Jason and his tabbacco road family. Yes even if he gets locked in a trunk.
Laffeyettes scenes with the coven where a good example of writing a scene everyone knew had to happen in a satisfying way...also head witchy's CRAZY EYES after her bird came to life.

So, what supernatural creature will Tara's girlfriend either turn out to be or get eaten by? I'm voting mummy or maybe chupacapbras.

I wonder if they're going to do the whole thing where Hoyt's getting old and Jessica starts to feel gross about banging a prune, but he doesn't want to be turned so it's time for Jess to hide comedy knockout pills in his cereal so she can turn him while he's unconscious. I know it couldn't happen because superspeed, but I have awesome visions of her chasing him around the house, fangs out, to yackety sax.
