I thought the comic was pretty well done and I was very disappointed by the show. The characters were all pretty flat and uninteresting, as was most of the conversation. In a story that's supposed to be more about the people than the zombies, that's bad.
I heard they're dumping all of the Season 1 writers and replacing them so I have hope for Season 2.

I thought the first episode (the 2 parter) was pretty great. Subsequent episodes were not quite as great, but certainly passable. The whole CDC plotline came out of nowhere though, and it sucked. I'm looking forward to the new season.

I'm holding out hope, because I trust AMC, and because (let's be honest) zombies are neato and I want to live in a world with an ongoing zombie teevee show. I have not, thus far, been blown away, however.

I loved the first episode, but I have to admit my interest trailed off as it started like they were wandering around a little aimlessly. But still, though it wasn't The Most Amazing Thing Evah it was still worth watching.
The finale, though, seemed like a weird turn in an unexpected direction that just didn't really seem to work, which leaves me a little doubtful about S2.
Still, fingers crossed anyway. And hey, isn't it all new writers?

The new season of Breaking Bad reminded me that I've been meaning to watch this show, so I plowed through the first season these past 3 days.
Have to say, I think it's only my love for zombie fiction that kept me interested. The overall tone of the show reminded me a bit too much of Lost, with the random soap-opera style moments, and everyone being needlessly aggro towards one another. Maybe I should just give the comics a shot...? I'll probably still come back for s.2 when does it start?
