Jack was once not plain gay, right? I swear he used to be willing to have sex with anyone and any alien. I did like the callback with Oswald to the end of CoE, because the whole brand new day thing just was getting too new. I am also glad that Gwen is no longer as obsessed with Jack, because that storyline got old about 3 episodes in.
And people are definitely not healing. Which means I have no idea what.
I really enjoyed this episode, which is probably because Jane Espenson is great.

I cracked up about the name of the gay bar: The Golden Gopher. You're right about Jack-he used to hit on everything. Hell he was married at one point.

Yeah, Jack was always pansexual. Although it did give them an excuse for a filthy joke.
Also, it's not like he hasn't been mortal before: if I remember rightly, didn't he become immortal when Rose resurrected him with Tardis juice at the end of Bad Wolf? Although that was a long time ago on his timeline.
I liked this episode a lot better than the last one.
